How Many Words Should A History Dissertation Have?

Often, most students struggle with determining the appropriate length of an essay. How long should the essay be? 5 pages? 10 pages?

For a final research paper in level 300-400, the paper should be even longer; typically up to 20 pages. But anything above 15 pages should be acceptable. The same applies to upper level research papers.

Remember that type of paper and the subject may also influence the length of your dissertation. For instance, math junior dissertations don’t have to be 10 pages long even if the papers are considered very important.
